The Residents – Venroy

Described as creating “perfect swimwear” and “relaxed linens” – it seems there could not be a finer fit for The Calile Hotel and James Street’s chic sub-tropical scene than Venroy.

The stylish Sydney duo Theo Smallbone and Sean Venturi formed Venroy eight years ago – with no previous design experience – rather a drive and determination to create the perfect pair of boardies.

Today they have achieved far more than perfecting the humble swim short and have burgeoned into a complete leisurewear brand. Rapidly establishing itself as a staple among the young casual set, Venroy designs emphasise comfort through summer focused cuts in casual linens, cottons and jerseys… perfect for sub-tropical climes.

Bringing an injection of youthful classic menswear to James Street, this lifestyle powerhouse caterers to more than just the discerning male, with chic womenswear rounding out the range and complimenting the vacation-inspired collections.

“We are very focused in terms of the lifestyle we design for, so both our offer as well as our store environments are a reflection of the leisure life. We are an exclusively direct to consumer brand which means we have total control over all aspects of our business and most importantly where our customers can interact with our product,” says Sean Venturi.

“James St is the perfect fit for us because it is a lifestyle destination where people go to relax and enjoy themselves. The street and climate reflect our style…”

Coined as the Sultans of Swim – Venroy will be at home poolside at The Calile this Spring.
